Congress and Barack Obama are wrong to want to expand embattled mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, writes Steven Spruiell, who wants the two government-sponsored enterprises privatized or wound down. Some of the scare tactics used against Obama and satirized in this week’s cover of The New Yorker, including ones showing Obama in traditional Muslim garb and linking him to Osama bin Laden, have come from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and not Republicans, writes Seth Leibsohn.
