Democrats failed to show they are strong, tough and willing to fight for what they believe in by bowing to a president with a 28 percent approval rating on a rewrite of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, writes kos. If Democrats also cave to Republican demands for offshore oil drilling, something Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) said he was open to explore, they’d be following a strategy just as ineffective as that of a teenager who commits suicide in order to “show them all,” writes Devilstower.
