Retired Gen. Wesley Clark’s rationale for backing Barack Obama — that the Democrat has shown better judgment than John McCain by opposing the Iraq war — doesn’t hold water, since Clark backed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), an initial war supporter, over Obama in the primaries, notes Michael Medved. On the same day that the Los Angeles Times, a newspaper full of “left-wing bias,” announced drastic cutbacks, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh signed a record $400 million contract, notes Carol Platt Liebau, who sees the two events as signs of the times.
