The Supreme Court correctly struck down the “millionaire’s amendment” in campaign finance law allowing the campaign opponent of a wealth candidate to enjoy less restrictive fundraising limits, writes Ed Morrissey. The provision was part of the campaign finance reform that John McCain championed, but, ironically, McCain is likely to appoint Supreme Court justices similar to Samuel Alito, who wrote the opinion striking down the provision, Morrissey notes. Moqtada al-Sadr’s militia is dissolving thanks in part to the U.S. military surge, which forced Sadr to flee to Iran, writes Morrissey.
