The statement by top John McCain adviser Charlie Black that the Republican would get a “big advantage” from a terror attack on U.S. soil tops the Post on Tuesday morning. The remark has prompted Richard Clarke, President Bush’s former counter-terrorism adviser, to call for Black’s resignation from the campaign, notes the Post. The media’s “overheated response” to Barack Obama’s decision to reject general election public funds and their lack of coverage of McCain’s failure to comply with campaign finance law in the primaries is “prime evidence” of their membership in the “John McCain Protection Society,” writes Arianna Huffington.
