Barack Obama, who trails John McCain by just one percentage point in the latest Georgia poll, merely needs to make McCain play defense in there to help his chances of winning overall, writes Jonathan Singer. While polls show support for offshore drilling, it may not provide the benefit people are looking for since there are few modern oil tankers that can do the job and since the government, thanks to the Bush administration, has shown an inability to collect fees that oil companies must pay to drill in public lands, which make up the majority of offshore areas, writes Texas Nate.
