Liberal activists should contribute to Democrat Jim Himes’s campaign against Rep. Chris Shays (R-Conn.), who portrayed himself in 2006 as against the Iraq war but since has voted against any war-spending bills that included withdrawal timelines, writes Todd Beeton. In Kentucky’s Senate race, Democrat Bruce Lunsford trails Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R), 46 percent to 50 percent according to a new SurveyUSA poll whose margin of error is 4.5 percentage points, notes Beeton. If Lunsford is indeed running competitively against the Senate GOP leader, it would be a devastating development for Republicans, the blogger writes.
