Two more prominent Barack Obama supporters, Sens. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) and Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) have taken loans from Countrywide Financial, the firm facing questions for its role in the subprime mortgage crisis, notes Moe Lane. While Obama should be favored against John McCain this year, a poll shows signs that McCain’s got a shot at winning, writes Pejman Yousefzadeh. The NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows Obama leading McCain, 47 percent to 41 percent, but it only includes responses from registered voters, as opposed to likely voters, the blogger writes. It also captures the problems Obama is having with white men and women, demographics needed to win in November, Yousefzadeh suggests.
