TalkingPointsMemo
The most likely red states to flip for Barack Obama this November are Colorado and Virginia, where the Illinois senator leads by six percentage points and seven points, respectively, Josh Marshall notes. If Obama wins those and holds the states Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) won in 2004, he’ll win the White House, Marshall adds. Sen. Joe Lieberman’s (I-Conn.) recent attacks on Obama particularly sting, since Lieberman “practically begged” Obama to endorse him, which Obama did, in the 2006 Connecticut Democratic Senate primary, according to a Lieberman official who talks to Greg Sargent.
