Bill Clinton’s reference to a YouTube clip as a “movie” shows that the former president is a man out of his time and element, which must be agonizing for him, writes Josh Marshall. Clinton, the 1990s political master, doesn’t grasp today’s mechanics, and his attacks and emotions, often key to his success in the past, have backfired, Marshall adds. The acquittal of Geoffrey Fieger, a Michigan Democrat accused of improperly donating $100,000 to John Edwards’s 2004 presidential campaign, shows that every Democrat indicted by the Justice Department of Alberto Gonzales has “a presumption in his favor,” Marshall writes.
