While polls in Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Virginia may have showed underlying demographic trends, they failed to capture candidates’ momentum, he writes. Republicans can be categorized into nine different “tribes,” which include Reagan Republicans, Goldwater Republicans and Huckabee Republicans, according to GOP Rebel, who posts a Venn diagram of the party. The differences between tribes show that Republicans can’t just call for a return to “conservative values,” whose meaning varies throughout the party, he writes.
