Power Line

The mainstream media’s dislike of President Bush must be why newspapers haven’t reviewed former Defense Department official Douglas Feith’s book, even though they’ve made former White House press secretary Scott McClellan’s book a “topic of intense discussion,” Paul Mirengoff writes. McClellan wasn’t at the center of policy-making discussions; Feith was one of the architects of the Iraq invasion, Mirengoff notes. Barack Obama has “arrogantly dismissed” John McCain’s suggestion that the two travel to Iraq together, writes John Hinderaker. And Obama’s spokesman Robert Gibbs, by saying that Obama would go to “see what sort of difficulties” the U.S. troops are facing, shows that Democrats have an “irrational commitment to failure,” Hinderaker writes.
