While former White House press secretary Scott McClellan decries the “Washington game” of partisanship, McClellan is what’s wrong with politics since he doesn’t “believe in anything,” according to Kathryn Jean Lopez. McClellan, who has favorably compared Barack Obama’s bipartisan message to that of President Bush’s in 2000, was either a “dead soul” for sticking by Bush’s more partisan 2004 campaign or a “huckster” for being blind to political realities, Victor Davis Hanson writes.
