TalkingPointsMemo
Former Rep. Bob Schaffer, the Republican candidate for Senate in Colorado, is now at best unwittingly tied to an organization based on illegal acts, Josh Marshall writes. Democrats are asking whether Schaffer, as a congressman, secured a $3.6 million earmark for an energy company whose board he served on and whose president was just convicted of defrauding the government, Marshall writes. The blog also has video of former White House press secretary Scott McClellan defending the Bush administration policies he now decries.
