Power Line
Oil company executives stole the show at a Wednesday Senate hearing, set up by Democrats to try to point the finger at the companies for high gas prices, John Hinderaker writes. While Scott Johnson writes that his heart goes out to Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) and his family, he concludes that Kennedy’s role in denying Robert Bork a Supreme Court seat in 1987 was “indisputably negative.” Citing a book by a New York Times reporter, Johnson writes that Kennedy distorted Bork’s words and contributed to the more partisan tone of judicial politics now seen in the Senate.
