TalkingPointsMemo
Barack Obama should have campaigned in Kentucky, even if he was destined to lose big there, writes Josh Marshall. Someone running for president needs to say, “You may not be for me, but I’m for you,” writes Marshall, paraphrasing Ronald Reagan’s line from 1980. Marshall also points out that Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe is again moving the goalposts. In addition to highlighting that Clinton has won more votes than Obama since March 4, McAuliffe says Clinton has received more votes than any other candidate in primary history, an argument only valid if the popular vote total includes Michigan and Florida and leaves out four caucus states, Marshall writes.
