TalkingPointsMemo
Many of Israel’s conservative, American friends, by conflating support for Israeli colonization of the West Bank with being pro-Israel, are putting Israel in danger and aren’t helping the United States, writes Josh Marshall. Linking to a story by Jeffrey Goldberg, Marshall suggests that Israeli leaders Ehud Olmert and Ehud Barak might not be deemed sufficiently pro-Israel if they were candidates in the United States. Marshall also has a video roundup of the latest dust-up between supporters of Barack Obama and Republicans over foreign policy, in which Democrats condemn President Bush’s use of the word “appeasement” in Israel and try to link Bush to John McCain.
