North Carolina state Sen. Kay Hagan’s surge in polls against Sen. Elizabeth Dole (R-N.C.) is more evidence that contested primaries strengthen candidates, kos writes. Hagan’s bounce is similar to what Sen. Jim Webb received when the Virginia Democrat challenged then-Sen. George Allen (R-Va.) in 2006, kos writes. But the blogger has had enough of the contested Democratic presidential primary; he suggests that Hillary Clinton campaign’s latest memo criticizing Barack Obama’s plan to declare victory is “not helpful,” since it’s obvious Obama will be the nominee.
