John Edwards is far from the “great national leader” that Barack Obama supporter Tom Daschle claims he is, writes Ed Morrissey. The former South Dakota senator may be just trying pump up his candidate’s latest endorsement, but he shouldn’t forget that Edwards is just a one-term senator who failed to win more than a million votes out of the 27 million already cast at the time he left the 2008 presidential race, Morrissey writes. The blogger also finds that John McCain’s new ad, which looks ahead to the United States in 2013, sounds too much like a wish list. Morrissey is pretty certain that Obama also supports the generic goals of a stabilized Middle East, a reduced nuclear terror threat and a reformed Washington that McCain will accomplish by the end of his first White house term, according to the ad.
