John Edwards’s endorsement of Barack Obama is merely “bandwagoning,” writes Pejman Yousefzadeh. The former North Carolina senate could have made a real difference had he endorsed before his own state’s primary, when Obama needed the help, the blogger writes. While he now has Edwards’s backing, Obama has to mollify the centrist Democratic Leadership Council on their fears that he will raise taxes, Yousefzadeh notes. If Republicans really want to stop any tax hikes, they better keep Democrats from winning veto-proof majorities in Congress, where even Blue Dogs are talking about new taxes, haystack writes.
