While the conservative bloggers see the New York Times as misrepresenting Barack Obama’s policies, they understand Obama is a formidable general election candidate. While the story says that McCain erred by saying Obama supports talks with Iran without preconditions, Obama himself has said that he backs such a position, Hinderaker notes.
