Power Line
The latest poll numbers on taxes and the swing state of Wisconsin include good news for Republicans, writes John Hinderaker. A Rasmussen survey has mostly low-income Americans supporting the gas tax and higher-income Americans opposing it, a breakdown that doesn’t help Barack Obama, Hinderaker notes. Both Obama and Hillary Clinton trail John McCain by four percentage points in the latest poll of Wisconsin voters, the blogger adds. Paul Mirengoff, who supports McCain on judicial appointments, notes that McCain supported conservative Robert Bork “without hesitation” for the Supreme Court in 1987, more reason for Mirengoff to like McCain’s stance.
