On the day of the last big Democratic primaries, Drudge leads with an exclusive from Hillary Clinton’s “inner circle” projecting a 15-point deficit and a “stinging defeat” in North Carolina. The “top campaign source” explains to Drudge that North Carolina’s demographics “are what they are” and that Clinton’s team will work to lower expectations. In the news links, Drudge has stories on the more than 200 economists opposing what he calls the “ClintonMcCain” gas tax holiday, a plea from Barack Obama for help to finish off Clinton and the expectations of both Democratic campaigns that the race will go beyond today’s contests.
