RedState

RedState directors endorse Republican Tom Rooney for Congress in his race against Rep. Tim Mahoney (D), who won the Florida seat formerly held by Rep. Mark Foley (R). RedState finds Rooney to be a pro-life, small government conservative who wants to cut spending, not just taxes, and is the least likely of the candidates running to “go off the conservative reservation,” the directors write. Looking at Andrew Sullivan’s suggestion of a Barack Obama-Hillary Clinton ticket, Pejman Yousefzadeh notes an editorial that asks Sullivan how he can back Obama running with Clinton since the blogger’s support for Obama stems from a desire to break from “Clintonian politics of the past.”
