TalkingPointsMemo
President Bush’s energy position and one of his administration’s outgoing officials are scrutinized here. David Kurtz has video of Bush Tuesday calling for drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to stem energy costs. Kurtz writes that Bush’s arguments don’t add up, and he links to a Reuters analysis that explains why. Josh Marshall notes Lurita Doan, head of the General Services Administration, announcing her firing in an e-mail to her department — the first time Marshall can recall anyone in the administration doing something like that. Marshall points out that Doan, alleged to have used her department to help Republican candidates, had already embarrassed the administration with “unethical acts.”
