Byron York predicts that the media will now declare the Jeremiah Wright controversy over, even though he still has one question unanswered: whether Obama would go back on a previous statement and “disown” Wright today. York, skeptical over Obama’s outrage, wants to know more about what Obama has learned in the 20 years that he’s known Wright. Seeing African-American pundits weigh in on Wright, Lisa Schiffren laments that today’s television culture forces accomplished people to either defend or denounce Wright publicly. She calls it the “great irony” of could have been a post-racial moment.
