Hillary Clinton’s latest endorser and her proclivity for earmarks are the talk of Townhall on Tuesday. Mary Katharine Ham writes that even though North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley will probably help Clinton with white, rural and elderly voters, the governor also brings baggage. He did little to shield his state from a bribery and extortion scandal involving the state house speaker, Ham argues. Amanda Carpenter also notes Clinton’s requests for $2.3 billion in earmarks this year, as reported by The Hill. That’s almost triple the amount requested by any other single senator, she writes. Matt Lewis, meanwhile, looks at Rev. Jeremiah Wright and compares him to Bill Clinton, someone whom Lewis sees as caring more about a personal legacy than the candidate he supports.
