Erick Erickson critiques the ad linking Democratic House candidate Travis Childers to Obama and Rev. Jeremiah Wright. The ad was sponsored by Greg Davis, the Republican candidate for House in Mississippi. Erickson writes that the ad could have done more damage to Childers by focusing on Childers’s actions, including his refusal to denounce Wright’s statements about America’s role in 9/11. Pejman Yousefzadeh finds bizarre Democrats’ decision to turn away from support for free trade, “a policy that has brought us a tremendous amount of prosperity with very little attendant cost.” Yousefzadeh dreams of a world in which the mainstream media challenges the candidates, like Hillary Clinton and Obama, who “trash free trade and all the good it does just to get votes.”
