John McCain’s not going to talk much about Rev. Jeremiah Wright, despite how much his conservative supporters want him to, reports Byron York. A McCain aide tells York that the Republican wants to talk about “big differences” over national security and the economy, not over Barack Obama’s former pastor. York wonders whether McCain’s strategy of relative quiet over the issue will mesh with the rhetoric of other Republicans and third-party advocacy groups who are bound to keep at it. Meanwhile, Kathryn Jean Lopez watches CNN and notes that its coverage of a Wright speech may be the network’s attempt to be the anti-Sean Hannity.
