The Huffington Post
The Pennsylvania primary leads the Tuesday morning Post, which features screenshots of Hillary Clinton’s new ad under the headline “Clinton Plays The bin Laden Card.” The ad, which features footage of bin Laden and asks voters who they think is ready to handles crises, suggests that the Clinton campaign believes the primary could be close, despite polls showing her ahead, writes Jason Linkins. Post honcho Arianna Huffington takes it to old media in the lead blog post, arguing that last week’s ABC News debate and two stories in the Sunday New York Times show that the media has allowed the Republican “lunatic fringe” to take over “our democracy.” Huffington writes the ABC News debate questions were evidence that the media’s had “internalized” the Right’s message. She notes that the Times’ stories on the Pentagon’s coordinated public relations efforts and the Bush administration’s refusal to heed its commanders’ call for more strikes in Pakistan have yet to lead to “hue and cry” from others in the media. Huffington then wonders whether the media let Hillary Clinton get away with her criticism of MoveOn.org (which was first reported in the Post).
