Jonathan V. Last recaps the appearances by John McCain, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on pro wrestling’s WWE RAW on Monday. Last notes that all three of the candidates channel The Rock, who has called himself “The People’s Champion.” McCain, Last notes, takes it a bit further, giving the catchphrases of wrestling legends Ric Flair, Triple H and Hulk Hogan. After the segment, doppelgangers of Clinton, her husband and Obama fight in the ring, with the fake Obama receiving the worst crowd reaction.
