Power Line

The ties of the first Muslim congressman and Sunday’s New York Times come under the scrutiny of the conservative blog. Scott Johnson calls freshman Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) the first congressman of the Council of American-Islamic Relations, a group that Johnson finds a little too close to the Palestinian effort. Johnson also links to a text of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s “Audacity of Hope” speech, unearthed by Stanley Kurtz. Obama recalled in his book, “Dreams From My Father,” Wright during the speech condemned a world “where white folks’ greed runs a world in need.” Johnson also looks at the Times’ story on the Pentagon’s public relations efforts and finds it a “gigantic non-story.”
