Ed Morrissey offers his reasons for Barack Obama’s rise. Morrissey translates President Bill Clinton’s explanation for young voters’ support for Barack Obama as Clinton calling Obama “a huckster” and younger voters being “saps for a younger, charismatic liar.” Still, Morrissey argues that it’s the “right message” but “wrong messenger.” Morrissey also chalks up some of Obama’s support to the “myth” of “new politics” that the Democrat talks about. But Morrissey argues that Obama’s not practicing “new politics,” since he has lobbyists fundraising for him despite his pledge not to take “a dime from Washington lobbyists.”
