Weekly Standard
Michael Goldfarb has bad news for Barack Obama, libertarians and Italian leftists. Goldfarb suggests that the recent polling data in Indiana and Pennsylvania showing momentum against Obama may be due to voters’ “overexposure” to the Democrat’s television ads. That, combined with his “bitter” comment, may make last week “a turning point,” Goldfarb writes. He also looks at the potential libertarian candidacy of Bob Barr, a former House Republican from Georgia, and argues that it won’t damage John McCain’s bid as much as George Will thinks it could. Turning to Italy, Goldfarb writes that Silvio Berlusconi’s return to power is evidence that President Bush hasn’t destroyed his foreign friends’ political careers.
