First Read looks at what’s driving the news on the 40th anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr.’s death in Memphis. The bloggers note that Hillary Clinton and John McCain will be in Memphis on Friday, while Barack Obama will talk about the civil rights leader in Fort Wayne, Ind. Clinton, in her speech, will call for a “poverty czar,” Andrea Mitchell reports. Like many of the other blogs, they note the New York Times-CBS poll numbers showing Americans down on the economy.
