Northern California wildfire claims sixth victim
A massive wildfire in Northern California has claimed a sixth victim.
Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko told reporters at a news conference on Sunday that another victim had been found in a home that had become engulfed in flames.
“There has been a fourth victim identified as a result of the fire consuming a residence and a decedent located in that residence,” Bosenko said.
Officials said on Saturday that they had found the remains of three people — believed to be a woman and her two young great-grandchildren. Two firefighters have also died in the blaze.

The Carr Fire continued to sweep through the area in and around Redding, Calif. As of Sunday morning, the fire had consumed more than 89,000 acres and was only 5 percent contained.
Firefighters also faced difficult weather on Sunday with hot and dry conditions offering no relief to the efforts to contain the fire.
Bosenko said Sunday that 16 people have so far been reported missing over the course of the fire. Authorities have cleared nine of those cases and are continuing to investigate seven others, he said.
