Trump: Jindal was ‘a little nasty’ but is ‘a nice guy’
Donald Trump suggested Wednesday that he was happy to see rival Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal drop out of the Republican presidential race.
“Well he was, you know, a little nasty with me, but I think ultimately [he] was very nice and he tried,” Trump said on “Fox and Friends.”
{mosads}”Everybody is nasty to me because they want to get votes. I mean, they’ve figure they will get a little publicity and maybe they’ll get some votes,” Trump said.
He mentioned former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, the first Republican candidate to drop out of the race in September, who also attacked Trump.
Regarding Jindal, Trump said on Fox, “I think he’s a nice guy. I think he’s a good man. And, you know, I’m not unhappy to see one by one they go.”
Jindal focused many of the barbs in his campaign on the celebrity front-runner, including holding a sprawling speech in Washington, D.C., in September, where he called Trump a “narcissist” and “an egomaniac.”
Jindal on Tuesday became the third Republican to drop out of the race, after Perry and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Fourteen GOP candidates are still running.
