Conway: Dems want ‘to stop everything’ Trump is trying to do

Kellyanne Conway said Monday that Democratic leaders have “no message” or goals — other than “to stop everything” President Trump tries to do.

The White House counselor, during an interview on “Fox and Friends,” said Sen. Charles Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) pushback against Trump’s claims of Obama administration wiretapping is just the latest obstruction tactic from the the Senate minority leader.

“I would just say respectfully to Sen. Schumer: This is a very typical response to the Democratic Party these days. It’s that they have no message. I mean, they have no core. They have no message,” Conway said.

{mosads}“Their message is we don’t want Donald Trump to be the president. And we are going to stop everything that he is doing,” she added.

Conway suggested Schumer would blindly fight against any and all White House initiatives, specifically citing Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court and GOP efforts to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

“Chuck Schumer has been out there many times saying he didn’t want to hear who the nominee would be to the Supreme Court, let alone Neil Gorsuch, someone he voted for 10 years ago — he and his Democratic colleagues,” Conway said.

“He will obstruct any type of repeal-and-replace measure. He doesn’t know what’s in it. He doesn’t know the tax reform proposal; he hasn’t seen the details of infrastructure. But they want to restrict and obstruct at every turn,” she continued.

Conway said Democrats “are truly the minority party with no ideas.”

Schumer has publicly expressed “serious, serious” concerns about Gorsuch, saying the Trump pick “avoided answers like the plague,” during a closed-door meeting.

Conway’s comments come the day after Schumer blasted the president’s claims of wiretapping at Trump Tower.

“It’s beneath the dignity of the presidency,” the New York senator said on “Meet the Press.” “It’s something that really hurts people’s view of government.”
