Chelsea Clinton responds to Trump: My parents wouldn’t have asked me to sit in
Chelsea Clinton fired back at President Trump’s suggestion that she would have been praised for standing in for her mother at the meeting.
“Good morning Mr. President. It would never have occurred to my mother or my father to ask me. Were you giving our country away? Hoping not,” Clinton tweeted.

Trump tweeted earlier pushing back against criticisms of him for having his daughter Ivanka Trump briefly sit in for him at a meeting at the Group of 20 summit last week.
{mosads}“If Chelsea Clinton were asked to hold the seat for her mother,as her mother gave our country away, the Fake News would say CHELSEA FOR PRES!” he tweeted.
“When I left Conference Room for short meetings with Japan and other countries, I asked Ivanka to hold seat. Very standard. Angela M agrees!” he tweeted earlier.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel defended Trump’s decision to have his daughter sit in for him, citing her role as a member of the U.S. delegation at the summit. Ivanka Trump is currently serving as an unpaid White House adviser.
