Menendez urges patience on job growth
The chairman of the Senate Democrats’ campaign arm urged voters Sunday to be patient when it comes to job growth.
Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) acknowledged that unemployment is still high, but said Democrats simply need time.
“We can’t create 10 million jobs overnight,” Menendez told CNN’s “State of the Union.” Of voters, he said, “I think they give us credit for moving in the right direction.”
Vice President Joe Biden said this weekend that “there’s no possibility” of recovering all the jobs lost during the recession. Menendez said Biden was simply talking about the timeline for job creation.
“I think what the Vice President meant was that we’re not going to do it in a short time frame,” he said.
