Report: Cheney released from hospital
The Wall Street Journal reported that a spokesman for Cheney said he “was released from Fairfax hospital and returned home this morning.”
Cheney, 69, had been at Inova Fairfax Hospital after having a small pump called a Left Ventricle Assist Device (LVAD) inserted into his chest that would enhance his heart function.
The former vice president has a history of heart problems and has suffered multiple heart attacks. His first came in 1978 at the age of 37, and his most recent one happened in February.
The LVAD was put in as Cheney announced his heart disease had reached an advanced stage that poses a greater risk for heart failure.
