Hoyer: Dems won’t lose the House
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) acknowledged Sunday that Democrats will lose seats in the midterm elections but said they will keep their majority.
“We are going to hold the House,” said Hoyer, appearing on CNN’s State of the Union. “We are going to lose seats, probably,” he added, but declined to speculate on the number.
Hoyer acknowledged that the party may have to eventually pull resources from races that become hopeless, but said that point has not been reached.
“If there are candidates that are very substantially behind and they can’t make it, we will have to make some tough judgments,” he said. “That decision has not been made.”
