Obama to defend budget at first press conference of year
President Obama will hold his first solo news conference of the new year on Tuesday.
Obama is holding the press conference to discuss the budget he unveiled Monday. The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
The last time President Obama held a solo press conference was on Dec. 22, during which he touted Congress’s achievements during the lame-duck session before leaving for his family vacation to Hawaii.

Obama is also likely to field questions about the upheaval in the Middle East that has followed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s withdrawal from power.
