GOP launches mock ‘Obama 2012’ ad
Republicans are taking aim at President Obama’s impending reelection effort with a mock campaign ad outlining his first two years in office.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) posted a fake “Obama 2012” ad, ribbing the president for divisiveness, his energy policy, budget deficits and engaging in the occasional extracurricular activity, such as golfing or filling out NCAA brackets on television.
“Four more years: America needs more changing,” the spot says at the end, featuring a cartoon of Obama riding a unicorn over the rainbow.
The mocking ad comes shortly before Obama is expected to formally launch his own reelection effort. All indications have been that the president’s move to file for a second term will come within weeks, and the Chicago Sun-Times reported yesterday that the decision could come as soon as Monday.
Obama’s reelection roll-out is expected to come with a Web video to supporters.
