GOP leaders targeted in Palin film

{mosads}Conservative talk radio host Mark Levin, who was interviewed for the documentary, claims that the party establishment views her with suspicion and is unwilling to defend her against liberal attacks.

As Levin rails against the party establishment, images of Boehner, Cantor, and McConnell are flashed on-screen.

Conservative media figure Andrew Breitbart also lashes out at the Republican elite for failing to defend Palin.

“Men no longer have a sense of chivalry,” he says. They are “eunuchs who have run as men but who aren’t men.”

The film, which was created by conservative filmmaker Stephen
K. Bannon, details her rise as a political figure and the constant
stream of criticism she has faced ever since stepping into the public
eye. 

The film is is undoubtedly pro-Palin and was created after the ex-governor’s aides approached Bannon, but Palin had no editorial role in the project.

Palin and the GOP establishment have been at odds ever since she served as the party’s vice presidential nominee in 2008. One of her foremost Republican critics has been Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) presidential campaign manager Steve Schmidt. 

Asked why he didn’t go more into detail about criticism from Schmidt and others in the GOP, Bannon replied, “They got their shot, I got mine.”

But when it comes to GOP members of Congress specifically, Palin has rarely taken direct shots at them. She has pressured them to take rigid stances in policy debates.

Likewise, Republican leaders in Congress have publicly praised Palin. Before the 2010 midterm elections, Cantor commended Palin as a “very viable leader … who inspires millions of Americans because of her accomplishments.”

Spokesmen for Boehner and McConnell did not respond to a request for comment and a Cantor spokesman declined to comment, citing the fact he has not seen the film.
