{mosads}He said that Obama’s heathcare reform did too much to protect pharmaceutical companies while the Dodd-Frank financial reform allowed “too big to fail” to remain in place. He said Obama has failed to scrub the budget of waste and tax code of loopholes due to special interest lobbying.
He said that GE failed to pay any corporate taxes last year.
He said that under his presidency, he would eliminate the Dept of Energy, Fannie Mae and Freedie Mac.
He said he “go back to 2008 and every regulations imposed since then will be rescinded.”
To break the addiction to foreign oil, Roemer would but an increasing tariff on foreign oil to discourage use while opening up all areas in the U.S. to drilling. All imports made using any Iranian oil would be banned, he said.
“Drill, we will!” he cried.
While some of Roemer’s comments gained only scattered applause, he did get a resounding response when he said “Obama didn’t cause this recession, he’s just made it permanent.”
Roemer noted that in a recent poll only 3 percent of those surveyed had heard of him. He said he was proud that in the same poll, 2 percent said they would vote for him.
