Priebus, the RNC chairman, said he thinks Geithner should leave his post because of his role in overseeing President Obama’s harmful economic policies.
He also slammed Geithner for saying the U.S. would not lose its AAA credit rating.
“I think he’s [Geithner] lost the confidence of the financial world in this country, and I think the president obviously lost the confidence of the voters, but we can’t get rid of Barack Obama,” said Priebus.
Schakowsky said the outlook for the soon-to-be-formed debt supercommittee is “pretty grim.”
When asked if a bipartisan agreement could be reached that included spending cuts without tax reform, she said “there is no way.”
The Illinois Democrat blamed Republicans for not compromising on raising revenues.
