Huntsman criticizes GOP front-runners, says ‘recognize science for what it is’

On Romney, Huntsman called the former Massachusetts governor a “panderer.”

“If your definition of conservative is someone who’ll pander to whatever crowd he happens to be in front of, then Mitt’s your guy,” Huntsman said.

Earlier in the interview with the conservative radio host, Huntsman also responded to questions about comments me made on Tuesday on climate change. During an event at the Heritage Foundation, Huntsman said there was not enough information on climate change to enact policy. Those comments came months after Huntsman tweeted that he trusted scientists on global warming.

“To be clear. I believe in evolution and trust scientists on global warming. Call me crazy,” Huntsman tweeted at the time.

“I think we have to recognize science for what it is,” Huntsman said on Wednesday. “I accept what the scientific community has to say about it.”

Huntsman added though that he wasn’t going to back any policy responding to climate change that would hinder job creation.
