{mosads}But the poll did show some encouraging signs for Brown. The poll found the incumbent with a 54 percent-30 percent approval/disapproval rating, and saw him leading Warren by 5 percentage points overall. Independents approved of Brown by a 64-percent-to-21-percent margin.
A poll earlier this week from Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm, had Brown’s favorability and unfavorability ratings essentially even, and showed the senator trailing Warren by 2 percentage points.
The race received national attention earlier this week, when Warren jabbed Brown by saying that she didn’t have to take off her clothes to pay for law school — mocking a nude magazine spread that Brown participated in during his 20s. Brown responded, “Thank God,” in a radio interview, drawing the ire of women’s groups.
