Biden focused on reelection fight, but ‘not closing any door’ on 2016 run

Vice President Joe Biden says he has not decided whether to run for president in 2016.

Speaking Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union with Candy Crowley, Biden said he would decide on a 2016 run later but right now his focus is on helping President Obama win reelection.

{mosads}”My one focus right now is getting the president reelected. I’ll make up my mind on that later,” Biden said. “I’m not closing any door. My job now and will be vice president of the United States and we got the order right — President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.”

Biden voiced optimism about President Obama’s reelection chances. He said that the sell for the Obama administration was not going to be that the economy could have been worse than it is right now, but rather that now the American voter had a choice between getting the economy moving under the Obama administration or missing the chance for an economic recovery.

Biden said the “bumper sticker” for Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign on the economy would be along the lines of “let’s get the economy moving.”
